CONCERNING THE INTEGRATION OF THE BALTIC STATES IN THE FIELD OF
ENERGY
The Baltic Assembly believes that one of the most urgent
topics today is the resolution of energy issues in the Baltic
States. By joining their efforts in the settlement of issues
related to energy, the Baltic States would become more attractive
to foreign investors and could more easily integrate into the
energy systems of Europe.
Therefore, the Baltic Assembly recommends to the Baltic
Council of Ministers:
1) to convene joint meetings of Ministers responsible for
energy policies to draft common energy programmes and to present
information on the existing common energy systems.
2) to consider the formation of a common energy system which
would avoid energy shortages and would permit a more efficient
utilisation of surplus energy.
