SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA
RESOLUTION ON THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAW ON WAGES
The Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania resolves:
1. To establish that the Law on Wages of the Republic
of Lithuania shall enter into force on 1 February 1991.
2. To establish that the Government of the Republic of
Lithuania shall establish the minimum hourly wage (minimum
monthly salary), taking into consideration the approved minimum
cost of living.
3. To commission the Government of the Republic of Lithuania
to:
- prepare and submit to the Supreme Council of the Republic of
Lithuania the draft law of the Republic of Lithuania on "the
repeal and amendment of some articles of the Labour Code of the
Republic of Lithuania in relation with the enactment of the Law
on Wages" by 1 February 1991;
- repeal and amend executive acts which are inconsistent with the
Law on Wages by 1 February 1991;
- prepare basic principles on the conditions of payment,
qualification-rate requirements for occupations and posts, wage
rates for employees and jobs, and the procedure for calculating
average wages by 1 March 1991.
4. To establish that in determining additional pay
according to Article 6 of the Law on Wages, work conditions
shall be classified according to the procedure currently in
effect, until the Law on Safety at Work of the Republic of
Lithuania enters into force.
