RESOLUTION
ON THE CO-OPERATION OF THE BALTIC STATES IN THE EXPLORATION OF
THE BALTIC SEA
The Baltic Assembly
taking into consideration that adequate and timely
information about the environment provided by the environment
science forms the basis of environmental protection,
regarding that co-operation in the exploration of the sea is
advantageous for each of the three Baltic States both from the
scientific and the economic point of view,
recommends to the governments of all the three Baltic
States:
1) to sign a trilateral agreement on the co-operation in the
exploration of the Baltic Sea;
2) to appoint a Baltic Sea Exploration Commission and to
assign it a task of working out and managing the Baltic sea
exploration programme;
3) beginning with 1997, to implement a joint programme on
the exploration of the Baltic Sea;
4) to establish a special Baltic Sea Fund to provide
financing for the above programme.
