The Eighth Session of the Baltic Assembly

     The Baltic Assembly:                                                       
     having met  at the  eighth session  in Vilnius,  on 13 April               
1996;                                                                           
     having  debated   the  effectiveness  of  parliamentary  co-               
operation between the Baltic States;                                            
     has approved the following documents:                                      
     Parliamentary Programme of the Baltic Assembly;                            
     Appeal to the EU Intergovernmental Conference;                             
     Statement  concerning  the  Development  of  Events  in  the               
Russian Federation;                                                             
     Resolution on  the Co-operation  of the Baltic States in the               
Exploration of the Baltic Sea;                                                  
     Resolution on  the Co-operation  of the Baltic States in the               
Exploitation of the Sea-bed and Coastal Areas of the Baltic Sea;                
     Resolution on  the Co-operation  of  the  Baltic  States  in               
Minimising Transboundary Pollution;                                             
     Resolution on a Joint Program to Combat Tuberculosis;                      
Resolution on  the Co-operation of the Baltic States in the Fight               
against the Use of Doping in Sports;                                            
     Decision on  the New  Wording of  the Statutes on the Baltic               
Assembly prizes for literature, Arts and Science;                               
     and decided  that the  next session  of the  Baltic Assembly               
will be  held in  Riga, in  September 1996,  at  which  the  main               
subject will  be the  mutual integration  of the Baltic States on               
their way to the EU.
