RESOLUTION
CONCERNING THE PROBLEMS OF THE INHABITANTS OF ESTONIA,
LATVIA AND LITHUANIA LIVING IN BORDER AREAS
In border towns and regions of the Baltic States people used
to live in the same rhythm which various powers tried to break at
different times. Such activities often were in contradiction to
the everyday interests of the people.
Unsettled problems such as the legal procedure of border
crossing are difficulties causing the greatest tension and
incomprehension among the local population.
The Baltic Assembly proposes to the Baltic Council of
Ministers that they urgently find solutions, through interstate
negotiations, for such border areas and border towns.
