RESOLUTION                                           
           ON THE PROMOTION AND SUPPORT OF THE STUDIES                          
        OF THE ETHNIC IDENTITY OF THE INDIGENOUS NATIONS                        
                      OF THE BALTIC STATES                                      
                                                                                
     In order  that the  Baltic States,  while  fulfilling  their               
aspirations to  integrate into  the European  community, preserve               
and develop  their ethnic  uniqueness, strengthen  and popularize               
the traditions of national culture, and contribute to the rebirth               
of the  indigenous nations  of the  Baltic States  and the  self-               
awareness  of  their  national  identity,  its  preservation  and               
further development, the Baltic Assembly calls on the Governments               
of Estonia,  Latvia and  Lithuania, as well as the Baltic Council               
of Ministers  to support,  popularize and  promote studies of the               
ethnic identity of the Baltic States.
