SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA
RESOLUTION
THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA LAW ON COLLECTIVE
AGREEMENTS ENTRY INTO FORCE
The Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania resolves:
1. To establish that the Republic of Lithuania Law on
Collective Agreements shall enter into force on 1 May 1991.
2. To commission the Government of the Republic of
Lithuania, prior to 20 April 1991, to:
submit to the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania the
Draft Law "On the Annulment and Amendments of Certain Articles in
the Code of Laws on Labour upon the Enactment of the Law on
Collective Agreements"; and
to annul executive acts which fail to comply with the Republic of
Lithuania Law on Collective Agreements, or to introduce
amendments therein.
3. To establish that in enterprises, institutions and
organizations in which collective agreements must be concluded
pursuant to the Law on Collective Agreements, provisions of
collective agreements concluded earlier shall be applicable prior
to the signing of the collective agreement, provided that they do
not worsen the working, economic and social conditions of
employees set forth in the laws and standard acts of the Republic
of Lithuania.
4. To establish that after the entry into force of this Law,
the right to represent employees who are members of trade unions
at the conclusion of a collective agreement may be granted to
trade unions functioning in accordance with the Republic of
Lithuania Law on Trade Unions.
