R E S O L U T I O N
CONCERNING FURTHER TRENDS OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE BALTIC
COUNCIL AND THE NORDIC COUNCIL
The Baltic Assembly, taking into consideration:
- the provisions of the agreement concerning international
cooperation between the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council
signed on 30 May 1992;
- the new security situation in the Baltic Sea region;
- the activities of the Baltic countries to integrate into
the political and economic structures of Europe;
- the economic reforms carried out in the Baltic States
which are of great importance to the entire Baltic Sea region;
proposes to the Baltic Council of Ministers that it negotiate
with the Nordic Council concerning the further trends of
cooperation between the Baltic Council and the Nordic Council,
focusing particular attention on the following aspects of
cooperation:
1) search for new regional security forms;
2) comprehensive study of European integration processes;
3) modification of the Baltic States legislation taking into
consideration the integration processes in Europe;
4) development and intensification of economic ties between
the Baltic and Nordic countries.
